Remora Robotics has officially begun operations in Production Area 4 (PO4), marking a major milestone for the company’s expansion strategy in Norway. As the country’s largest salmon farming zone by biomass capacity, PO4 plays a vital role in the national aquaculture industry, and represents a strategic foothold for Remora’s growing presence.
Production Area 4, which stretches along Norway’s rugged western coastline from Nordhordland to Stadt, boasts a maximum allowed biomass (MTB) of nearly 98,000 tons of salmon and trout. The region’s optimal farming conditions and high production volume have made it a key hub for innovation, technology deployment, and environmental oversight within the industry.
– This is a big moment for us and it’s a vote of confidence in our technology and our ability to contribute meaningfully to more sustainable and efficient fish farming, says Remora Robotics CCO, Brage C. Amundsen.
Our autonomous underwater robots, designed to improve fish health and reduce labor-intensive tasks, are now in use at select sites in the area. The deployment in PO4 reflects the scalability of Remora’s technology and its ability to support large-scale salmon farming operations.
– The expansion into PO4 marks the latest step in Remora Robotics’ mission to revolutionize salmon farming through smart automation and real-time data.
With increasing attention on operational efficiency and innovation, the company’s presence in the region is expected to attract further interest from industry partners across Norway and beyond.
