Svein Erik Gregersen steps in as CEO at Remora Robotics. His extensive experience in strategy and organizational development, coupled with a strong commitment to sustainable aquaculture, makes him an ideal leader for Remora Robotics.
Remora Robotics, a leader in the development of smart robots for cleaning and inspecting fish farming nets, announces today that Svein Erik Gregersen will be the company’s new CEO. This appointment marks the beginning of the scaling phase for Remora Robotics, as the company positions itself for further growth.
Svein Erik takes the helm from outgoing CEO Brage C. Amundsen. Brage, who has led the company through a successful commercialization phase, is convinced that Svein Erik is the right person to lead Remora into the next chapter.
“I am very pleased to pass on the responsibility of the new CEO to Svein Erik. His expertise in technology development, strategic skills, and leadership experience made the choice easy. Svein Erik has a solid foundation to lead the development of Remora Robotics further,” states Brage C. Amundsen.
Svein Erik Gregersen has held the position of COO in the company since August 2023 and has a background in innovation and business development at R. Stahl Tranberg, as well as the commercialization of subsea technology at Roxar Emerson. He assumes his new position in December.
“Remora Robotics is entering an exciting phase, and I look forward to taking on the role of CEO for the company. Ensuring fish welfare is crucial to succeed in sustainable aquaculture. I am convinced that Remora’s technology will be a vital part of the solution in the future,” says Svein Erik Gregersen.
Remora Robotics’ technology, a smart robot designed for cleaning and inspecting fish farming nets, provides farmers with better control over the environment in the nets and the health of the fish. With built-in cameras and sensors, the robot provides real-time information about the net’s condition, resulting in improved fish welfare, reduced mortality among farmed fish, and increased profitability for farmers.
The company is experiencing significant interest from the market, and inquiries have increased significantly since the technology has been deployed on a larger scale. Remora has already established contracts for cleaning over 30 nets, and the company looks forward to substantial growth in 2024, involving an expansion of a strong presence throughout the country. Brage C. Amundsen will continue to be involved in the company, focusing on strategy, development, and growth, and his experience will be a valuable resource for Remora Robotics.
